As part of the Connectors and Cable Assemblies (C&CA) category team, the Sr. Supplier Engineer works independently and partners with cross-functional groups to execute material controls and deliverables to meet business needs. This role serves as a technical project lead to resolve complex and critical supplier-related issues, while improving supplier performance, mitigating risks for supplied materials and driving strategies to support supply chain objectives. At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least three days per week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of technical experience supporting complex mechanical or electrical systems
  • Ability to travel up 20% globally

Responsibilities

  • Partnering with global suppliers as the technical expert to understand manufacturing processes and maintain consistent product quality and reliability throughout the product lifecycle
  • Serving as a technical lead in Global Sourcing category teams to establish and execute category objectives
  • Assessing new and existing technologies to support future product development and improve the quality and reliability of current products
  • Partnering with suppliers and category team members to investigate supplied material issues and supply constraints
  • Collaborating with R&D, manufacturing and process development teams on electrical and mechanical design requirements for new product development
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to execute changes initiated by BSC or suppliers, such as improvement projects, supplier capability, capacity projects, and compliance projects
  • Coordinating all phases of supplier engineering work content for projects; communicate emerging issues and action plans with site leadership and stakeholders to gain resources and support
  • Identifying and executing material cost reduction projects to meet plant, division, and category goals, while influencing cross-functional support in driving value improvement projects
  • Maintaining compliance with the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures to ensure patient safety and product quality
