About The Position

The Senior Supervisor for Supply Chain Management is a full-time, on-site role based in Covington, GA. This role oversees end-to-end supply chain activities, including demand planning, procurement, production scheduling, inventory management, and logistics coordination. The Senior Supervisor leads and develops a team, sets priorities, and monitors performance to ensure on-time delivery, optimal inventory levels, and cost-effective operations. Daily responsibilities include analyzing data, tracking key metrics, resolving supply disruptions, and collaborating with production, quality, engineering, and sales teams to support customer requirements. The position also drives process improvements, supports compliance with company policies and safety standards, and contributes to strategic supply chain initiatives aligned with Nisshinbo’s sustainability and quality goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field required
  • Typically requires 2+ to 8+ years of progressive experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or material planning.
  • Keeps Senior Management Informed by participating in meetings; by reporting problems to Senior Management verbally or in writing in order to avoid confusion and further problems; and by recommending changes for improvements in the Company's functions to Senior Management.
  • Supervises Staff by providing direction and delegating responsibilities to subordinate Staff; by evaluating work performed by subordinate Staff; by training Staff when necessary; by providing subordinate Staff with regular feedback; by conducting Performance Appraisals; and by contributing to employment decisions (i.e. promotions, salary adjustments, termination, etc.).
  • Upholds Standards of Quality, Cost, and Safety by following the Company's standards and guidelines for maintaining quality, cost, and safety; by taking initiative to make these points top priority at the Company; by immediately reporting any conditions that do not uphold the standards of quality, cost, and safety to the Supervisor or Management; and by making suggestions for necessary improvements to uphold these standards as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Supply chain and operations skills, including demand planning, production scheduling, inventory control, and logistics coordination.
  • Procurement and vendor management skills, such as negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts, and monitoring supplier performance. Monitor supplier delivery performance and address deviations quickly through corrective actions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, including data analysis, KPI tracking, root-cause investigation, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma).
  • Leadership and communication skills, including team supervision, coaching, cross-functional collaboration, and clear written and verbal communication.Manage logistics and planning staff, handle performance reviews, and assign daily operational tasks.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and standard office software (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with automotive or manufacturing systems is a plus.
  • Oversee MRP/EDI releases, maintain targeted inventory levels, and manage product phase-in/phase-out processes.
  • Experience in automotive or manufacturing supply chain environments, preferably in a supervisory or senior coordination role.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting, and commitment to safety, quality, and ethical business practices.
  • Maintains and establishes existing and new KPI's for the supply chain department to acheve company goals. Participates in developing and maintaining change point management, and Kaizen activities. Supports key dvelopment activities to continuously improve the existing ISO /TS16949 and environmental management systems. Strongly participates in the safety systems to maintain zero accidents. Participates activitvely in developing and implenting the MRP system.
  • Manages Customer Accounts by providing customer support on delivery such as customer contact and support customer tracking systems; by communicating with vendors; by assisting with customers regarding package design; and by assisting in scheduling customer shipments to verify release dates.
  • Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, deploy reporting tools, and implement continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives across the network.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Procurement, Finance, Sales, and Operations to balance service, cost, and inventory trade-offs. Serve as the primary escalation point for supply chain issues.
