About The Position

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Supervisor - 2nd shift to support our collective bargaining unit production employees. This position will be expected to work within the production floor 80% of their work week and 20% at their desk on average. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday 3:30pm to 11:30pm. However, training will be conducted Monday through Friday on first shift for four weeks. This role will be performed ONSITE in our Collins Aerospace location in Coralville, IA. This role may be eligible for relocation.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Ability to work 2nd shift hours of Monday - Friday 3:30pm to 11:30pm
  • Experience in leading people
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • Direct experience in electronics manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Direct support of the automated build of circuit card assemblies including machine operation, coordination of production plans, master production schedules, inventory levels and assembly schedules
  • Makes modifications to processes in order to enhance the effectiveness of Industrial Engineering
  • Utilize lean tools and methodology to drive performance improvements and minimize waste within manufacturing processes
  • Responsible for the overall leadership, education, training, and guidance of bargaining unit personnel
  • Interface with all pertinent parties to meet and improve upon established quality, cost, schedule, and safety goals
  • Reviews, establishes, and prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply and personnel resources
  • Informs assigned associates of production and/or material problems and coordinates with support groups to resolve operational problems affecting schedules
  • Establishes and modifies operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures; recommends departmental standards and practices
  • Coordinates production activities with other functions such as materials, maintenance, marketing, new product development, customer service, manufacturing engineering, quality inspection, among others
  • Responsible for recruitment, performance reviews, and training needs
  • Performs other related duties as required
