Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of business operations experience within a manufacturing, engineering or closely related technical environment OR an Associate's degree and 7 or more years of experience in a business operations experience within a manufacturing, engineering or closely related technical environment
  • In absence of a degree, 9 or more years in a business operations experience within a manufacturing, engineering or closely related technical environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working in an environment with constantly fluctuating priorities
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Demonstrated skill and success in team leadership, facilitation & coaching skills
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, processes and procedures
  • Understanding of continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma and Lean
  • Proven flexibility / adaptability in high stress, ambiguous environments

Responsibilities

  • The Senior Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations is responsible for providing leadership to one or more Business Unit Cells.
  • The Senior Supervisor, Manufacturing Operations will apply CORE, Lean and other continuous improvement techniques to develop and implement process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing quality, throughput and delivery integrity.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to multi-skilled group of team members engaged in the manufacture and repair of jet engine components.
  • Ensure employees are adequately trained and work in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
  • Execute business decisions fairly, conduct annual performance reviews, hold regular toolbox meetings, provide two-way communications, consistent application of policy/work rules, clear, consistent communication of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Able to bridge business objectives across (3) operating shifts; be flexible relative to department assignment and be available for off-shift work
  • Support all legal obligations such as United States Government contracting and Administration of FAA policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for making minor changes in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of the work area.
  • Sets day-to-day operational objectives for team.
  • Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution
