About The Position

The Senior Superintendent provides direction, guidance, and leadership across multiple assigned projects and directly supports the Superintendents responsible for those projects. The Senior Superintendent is responsible for helping field teams execute work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with EdgeHill Integrated Systems standards, project schedules, quality expectations, plans, specifications, and subcontractor commitments. This role serves as the primary field leadership support between the General Superintendent and assigned Superintendents, helping coordinate manpower, subcontractor performance, QA/QC, material readiness, schedule execution, and project closeout. All activities will be performed in support of the values of Elmington Construction: Integrity, Precision, Growth, Driven, Relationships.

Requirements

  • 10+ Years of Progressive Electrical Engineering Experience
  • 5+ Years in Senior Leadership or Operations Management

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Master’s or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License

Responsibilities

  • Support and coordinate with all field personnel, trade partners, and third party consultants.
  • Guide others decisively and confidently while ensuring adherence to established processes and EdgeHill standards.
  • Inspire, motivate, and create a collaborative environment where each team member does their best and produces results.
  • Create followership through their leadership style but hold team members accountable for results.
  • Lead the charge on company innovation by looking for better ways to manage work, collect data, improve reporting, support project teams, and reduce repetitive effort.
  • Challenge the norm while keeping implementation practical and useful.
  • Mentor and teach others in both technical and leadership skills.
  • Continuously learn and share that knowledge with others.
  • Effectively delegate and use delegation to grow the skills of other members of the team.
  • Hold people accountable to perform but do so as a coach.
  • Write clear, practical SOPs, templates, checklists, and implementation documents that help project teams execute consistently.
  • Create a vision for the projects that others buy in to.
  • Use long-term thinking and a deep knowledge of the schedule to proactively identify problems and implement solutions in time to maintain workflow.
  • Skillfully use authority when needed if subcontractors are not following the plan.
  • Use all resources available, make timely decisions and rally others to the plan to drive towards success.
  • Use well developed communication methods to share information with others in a timely manner.
  • Take direction, listen, and receive constructive feedback well.
  • Effectively coordinate with all Superintendents, PM team and integral members of management.
  • Maintain a steady emotional state when communicating with others.
  • Notice when another party is not understanding and adjust the communication approach so that understanding occurs.
  • Travel between assigned projects.
