About The Position

Clune Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent, Team Leader to oversee field operations for projects, focusing on site access, scheduling, deliveries, logistics, safety, quality, and construction. This role involves close collaboration with the Project Manager to ensure project plan execution from pre-construction through closeout. Additionally, the Senior Superintendent, Team Leader will contribute to the firm's operations and growth, and mentor Assistant Superintendents and Superintendents. Requirements

  • Pre-construction scheduling, logistics and planning.
  • Ability to build a robust project schedule and weekly look-aheads.
  • Budgeting oversight with the project management team.
  • Management of multiple projects and/or large/complex projects with high quality control.
  • Management and coordination of field team including subcontractors and owner vendors ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Validated coordination of plans and specifications with architects and engineers.
  • Maintenance and management of Clune’s safety culture and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and open communication on the project site.
  • Ability to proactively recognize and resolve on-site challenges and issues.
  • Must mentor and train field personnel and help support and develop talent.
  • Participate in potential client interviews.
  • Conscientious and flexible, with a strong work ethic and team-first attitude.
  • Highly motivated with strong skills in time management and prioritization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.

  • 10+ years of experience managing commercial interior, healthcare and/or mission-critical projects.
  • Experience managing all aspects of field operations including scheduling, quality control and coordinating sub-contractors.
  • Solid background in construction trades and technical knowledge.
  • Proficiency with scheduling software.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and participate in pre-construction scheduling, logistics, and planning to provide input and guidance on logistical issues, constructability concerns, and subcontractor scope reviews.
  • Create accurate and detailed project schedules and weekly look-aheads, incorporating owner's milestone dates and assessing schedule feasibility.
  • Prepare schedules and proposed phasing plans for projects to assist the project management team for budgeting and bidding.
  • Manage multiple, large, and/or complex projects with a high level of quality assurance and quality control.
  • Manage and coordinate internal field team, subcontractors, and owner vendors, overseeing field document control.
  • Promote teamwork and open communication on the project site by involving trade partners, building management, design team, and owner vendors.
  • Coordinate plans and specifications with architects and engineers, maintaining field documents, validating RFIs, and suggesting cost-effective field resolutions.
  • Champion Clune’s safety culture and OSHA standards to maintain a safe work environment with a goal of zero incidents.
  • Proactively recognize and resolve on-site challenges and issues for timely resolution with minimal cost impact.
  • Contribute to company growth by participating in intern/candidate interviews and the Mentoring Program.
  • Develop Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents through training, guidance, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Develop training content and lead training classes on industry best practices, technical skills, and human skills.
  • Actively participate in developing and delivering potential client pitches.
