Celebrating 40 years of success and continual growth, ESP Associates is currently seeking an experienced Senior Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Technician/Analyst to join our team in Wilmington, NC. As a Senior SUE Technician/Analyst, you will be responsible for coordinating and performing SUE field operations, including utility designating, records research, and field documentation. This is an opportunity for an experienced SUE professional who is already coordinating projects to further their career within a dynamic and growing Engineering, Surveying and Planning firm.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of SUE experience required.
  • Experience interpreting utility records, designating utilities, and field sketching required, preferably in an engineering design environment.
  • Excellent work ethic and a self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Strong management and organizational skills while performing field operations.
  • Position will involve some travel out of town. Individual must be able to travel as needed.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with NCDOT projects, Heath and Radio Detection equipment, Ground Penetrating Radar, and vacuum excavation a plus.
  • DOT and route survey experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate SUE projects and field operations, both in and out of town.
  • Designate utilities and perform utility records research.
  • Prepare and organize field sketches and digital photographs.
  • Complete daily checklists, timesheets, and vehicle navigation.
