About The Position

Mesa presently has an opportunity for a Senior Substation Physical Technologist. This role provides an excellent opportunity to excel with innovative ideas and creative problem solving. Mesa is seeking an experienced (8 to 12 years) Bachelor of Science degreed individual for a position in Power Substation Physical Design. The successful candidate shall have extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry. In addition to relevant experience, a BS-degree is required. The successful candidate will work in an in-office (hybrid basis), collaborative team environment to provide engineering design support for physical design of Power Substations. As a Senior Technologist, this individual will be expected to be skilled in all aspects of physical substation design and able to thoroughly develop project packages with adherence to standards and for constructability of design. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required.

Requirements

• A BS Degree from an established/recognized university (required)
• 8 - 12 years of experience working in the power utility industry
• Extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry.
• Skilled in all aspects of physical substation design
• Able to thoroughly develop project packages with adherence to standards and for constructability of design.
• Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical substation design with a high degree of accuracy (Quality)
• Work well as a team member as well as individually
• Use MicroStation to create the assigned deliverables
• Interact with the Customer and meet their schedule and budgeting requirements
• Mentor junior Engineers/Designers
• Review work of other team members
• Perform work safely.
