Senior Substance Use Counselor
About The Position

The Role Under general direction, the Senior Substance Use Counselor will assist in the supervision of Counselors in scheduling all patients into treatment activities, assist with assignment of caseloads; provides technical and training assistance to counselors on EHR while managing a caseload. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Human Services
- CASAC required
- Minimum Five-Seven (5-7) years related experience working with clients with Substance Use Disorders (SUD)
- Ability to maintain a caseload and provide extra coverage as needed based on needs of the program
- Knowledge of and experience working with persons with co-occurring disorders
- Knowledge of the laws regarding personnel and client information
- Knowledge of Client Rights and Code of Ethics
- Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge and/or training in Trauma Informed Care and various organizational treatment
