Ulysses is seeking a Senior Acoustics Engineer to lead the development of their next generation of cost-effective, high-performance underwater sensing systems, designed for manufacturing scale. This role involves owning core acoustic payloads and algorithms (DVL, MBES, Side Scan Sonar, USBL, and adjacent modalities) and driving them from concept through production. The engineer will be responsible for creating robust, repeatable, and calibratable products suitable for high-volume manufacturing and global deployment. This is a senior, hands-on, full-stack role encompassing physics, signal processing, electronics, embedded software, mechanical integration, and production test. The position will lead the Ulysses acoustics team, setting technical direction for acoustic systems and collaborating with robotics, autonomy, and manufacturing teams to ensure systems are reliable in the ocean and economically viable at scale. The ideal candidate will possess deep domain expertise and the judgment to make critical architecture and design tradeoffs independently.
