We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented NCDOT CEI Structures Technician to join our team of construction professionals. As an NCDOT CEI Technician, you will be assigned to one or more active construction sites and be responsible for verifying the quality and compliance of project activities in accordance with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) standards and specifications. You will have the opportunity to advance your skillset through on-the-job training as well as attendance at certification classes. The initial project will involve the inspection of upgrades to the passenger ferry dock facilities at both Ocracoke and Hatteras terminals. For this assignment, housing on Ocracoke will be provided by Goins Sweitzer and inspector will be expected to stay on the island while work is occurring. Additionally, inspector will be responsible for assisting with inspection of a separate bridge replacement project also on Ocracoke. These projects are anticipated to start in October 2026 and end in late Spring 2027. At the conclusion of these assignments other work in and around the Elizabeth City area may be available for the inspector to transfer to or other locations within NC based on preference of inspector/home location.
