About The Position

Divergent is seeking a skilled, motivated engineer to support the development of next-generation aerospace vehicles and help advance structural systems using new materials and technologies. The Senior Structures Engineer supports product development across the full lifecycle and serves as a subject matter expert in structural design, analysis, and engineering execution. The work supports Divergent’s DAPS technology, which combines 3D-printed metal connectors with lightweight materials to create complex structures and transform industrial manufacturing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD and PLM.
• Experience with Nastran, Optistruct, LS-Dyna, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of aerospace structures and materials.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models, finite element (FE) models, and bills of materials (BOMs) for aerospace structures.
• Perform structural analysis, validation, and optimization activities.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams.
• Maintain engineering documentation and support product releases.
• Contribute to process, weight, and cost improvement initiatives.
