About The Position

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Structures (Bridge) Engineer for its Orlando, Florida office to grow and strengthen its transportation design practice. The role offers the opportunity to join a nationally recognized, multidisciplinary engineering firm providing planning and design services to the Florida Department of Transportation and municipal agencies throughout Florida. The successful candidate will design minor and major bridges and other transportation-related structures, including retaining walls and sign structures. The role also involves coordinating with project teams and contractors, supporting project pursuits, and reviewing design documentation. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
15 or more years of experience working on bridge transportation projects.
Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain one within one year.
Sound oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Strong desire to be a key contributor on a team of industry-leading professionals.

Responsibilities

Perform structural analysis and develop structure designs, construction plans, cost estimates, reports, and technical specifications.
Collaborate with other Transportation Discipline Leads and Project Managers.
Assign tasks and provide technical assistance to Structures Project Engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
Coordinate with contractors on Design-Build projects, perform bridge inspections, and develop solutions to issues arising during construction of various structures.
Assist with preparing project schedules and budgets.
Prepare marketing materials and serve as Structures Lead during project pursuit presentations.
Perform quality-control reviews of design documentation and plans prepared by internal staff and other consultants.
