About The Position

The Senior Structural / Geotechnical Engineer is an individual contributor who designs and analyzes complex foundation support systems for CB&I storage tanks and process-system structures worldwide. The work includes conceptual, cost, and planning studies; layouts; design calculations; specification development; and other construction documents. The position works independently with minimal supervision and may train or supervise less experienced engineers. It reports to the Department Engineering Manager and routinely interacts with Plate Structures Engineers and Drafters, Project Engineers, and Project Managers. The role includes reviewing soil reports, determining soil parameters from geotechnical information, establishing requirements for ground improvement and reinforcement, and designing shallow and deep foundation systems. The engineer reviews and approves project deliverables, including stamping them where appropriate, and ensures designs comply with relevant codes, standards, regulations, contract requirements, and safety and constructability considerations. CB&I offers eligible employees medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) matching program; FSA/HSA programs; disability options; life insurance; AD&D; paid holidays; and paid time off. Benefits eligibility for permanent positions may vary by employment status, location, or position. The listed annual pay range is $105,843–$132,304 USD; final compensation may depend on factors including location, skills, and experience.
