About The Position

Heritage Holding is working with a well-established structural engineering consulting firm serving architecture firms, building owners, and developers. The firm has built a strong reputation for providing structural design and forensic engineering services for buildings and special structures, delivering highly detailed, fully constructible drawings that minimize change orders and keep projects on schedule. The company maintains long-term relationships with architecture-firm clients across both new construction and renovation projects. The company name is being withheld at this stage of the search and will be shared with candidates who advance in the process. The firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to take on a client-facing technical leadership role responsible for structural design, quality control, and day-to-day management of client relationships on building and special-structure projects. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and the maturity to represent the firm directly with architecture-firm clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or closely related field)
  • 15–20 years of progressive structural engineering experience, including buildings and special structures
  • Active Structural Engineer (SE) license
  • Demonstrated experience serving as engineer of record on building projects
  • Strong working knowledge of applicable building codes and design standards
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships directly, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior engineering staff

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with forensic engineering or existing-building evaluation work
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit structural workflows
  • Prior experience working directly with architecture firms as primary clients
  • Business development or client-growth experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural design and analysis for new construction and renovation projects, including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood structures
  • Review and stamp structural drawings and calculations as the engineer of record
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for architecture-firm and building-owner clients, managing day-to-day communication and expectations
  • Produce highly detailed, constructible documents that anticipate field conditions and minimize change orders
  • Support forensic engineering assignments, including existing-building evaluations and condition assessments
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical quality control across project teams
  • Coordinate with project managers on scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects
  • Represent the firm in client meetings, site visits, and project coordination calls
