About The Position

Our Resources subsector within WSP’s Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) group supports industrial and mining clients across Canada. For decades, our experts have delivered economic studies, project management, detailed engineering, procurement, site management, commissioning, programming, and full EPCM execution across a wide range of heavy industrial environments. To support our continued growth, we are hiring a Senior Structural Engineer. In this role, you’ll help deliver impactful industrial structural engineering projects—from conceptual design to construction—while collaborating with a tight‑knit team of engineers, designers, and technical specialists. We are seeking candidates who desire to work out of our New Brunswick and Greater Toronto Area offices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; a master’s degree is an asset.
  • P.Eng. license in New Brunswick or Ontario.
  • Advanced experience in structural design within the industrial or mining sector.
  • Proven expertise in steel and concrete structures and in technical project management.
  • Strong knowledge of CSA standards, building codes, and advanced structural software (STAAD, S-Frame, SAP2000, etc.).
  • Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and client relations.
  • Ability to mentor and develop talent within the team.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced analysis and the design of steel and concrete structures for major industrial facilities.
  • Mentor intermediate and junior engineers and designers.
  • Sign and seal calculations and technical documents in accordance with provincial requirements.
  • Perform technical reviews, validate structural models, and guide engineering decisions.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients and participate in strategic meetings.
  • Contribute to planning, cost estimating, risk management, and the development of service offerings.
  • Conduct key site visits and oversee construction reviews.
  • Support multidisciplinary coordination throughout the entire project lifecycle.
