Purpose: We are currently recruiting for a Senior Structural Engineer, Chemical and Fuel business for our Sarnia office. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Sarnia, Ontario.

Requirements

Must be a member with Professional Engineers of Ontario.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering majoring in Civil/Structural Engineering.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in project leadership.
Specialized expertise in regulations, codes for the nuclear regulation and standards, and industry standard practices.
Specific knowledge on the National Building codes is essential.

Responsibilities

Works independently at an advanced level completing a wide variety of assignments through the application of advanced engineering theories and able to do regular visits to client sites, techniques, and practices.
Has substantial knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, nuclear standards and regulations, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables.
Capable to provide discipline supervision for one larger or one or more smaller projects.
Lead level of relevant structural discipline experience with a previous experience working on oil and gas brown field projects is required.
Strong background in discipline work and a competent understanding of regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices.
Skilled in estimating project costs and lead team of engineers and designers.
Trained in leadership and project execution.
Senior level of design management experience working on oil and gas projects.
Experience on leading and overseeing design/engineering team.
Relevant experience in design management development and planning.
Excellent experience to produce calculations and use STAAD PRO software.
Strong leadership, communication, organization and analytical skill.
Be able to do site visits as needed.
Experience and knowledge in grass roots and brownfield projects.
Structural design as applicable to perform structural integrity reviews based on sound engineering principles.
Design and development of typical structural scope items like different types of foundations, steel, concrete, masonry is mandatory.
Excellent experience to produce calculations and use STAAD PRO software. Be able to do site visits as needed.
