About The Position

An established structural engineering and restoration consulting firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer / Restoration Practice Leader to support continued growth. This leadership role focuses on existing buildings, institutional facilities, coastal structures, and restoration projects for commercial and residential properties. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in structural assessment, restoration design, forensic investigations, and client management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Connecticut required
  • Minimum 7 years of structural engineering experience with existing buildings
  • Strong knowledge of IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, and New England construction practices
  • Experience with ETABS, RISA, RAM, SAFE, and/or Revit
  • Strong technical writing, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and client relationships

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with restoration engineering, institutional facilities, parking structures, or coastal infrastructure preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural restoration and rehabilitation projects throughout Connecticut and New England
  • Provide technical oversight and mentorship to engineering staff
  • Perform structural evaluations of existing buildings, parking garages, and waterfront/coastal structures
  • Prepare and review calculations, engineering reports, specifications, and drawings
  • Manage projects from condition assessment through construction completion
  • Conduct forensic investigations related to structural deterioration, moisture intrusion, and construction deficiencies
  • Oversee construction phase services including site observations, contractor coordination, RFIs, and reporting
  • Ensure compliance with Connecticut building codes and applicable structural standards
  • Develop long-term client relationships with municipalities, institutions, property owners, and facility managers
  • Support business development and operational growth initiatives
