About The Position

Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer, Team Lead to join our expanding Power & Transportation team in Vancouver. In this role, you’ll support marine and civil infrastructure projects within a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting. Based in KCB’s Vancouver office—home to many of our largest infrastructure initiatives—you’ll play a key role in growing our ports and marine engineering practice. Reporting to a Senior Department Manager, this position offers the opportunity to lead complex technical work, mentor developing engineers, and contribute to significant infrastructure projects across Canada and internationally.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Canada or eligibility for registration in British Columbia. P.E. registration in the United States is considered an asset.
  • 20+ years of progressive engineering experience, including delivery of port, marine, or other heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in: Reinforced concrete and structural steel design, Foundations (including piled foundations), marine structures, and earthworks, Seismic and marine-specific design
  • Strong ability to coordinate across disciplines and project teams
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong technical report writing capability
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling for large infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • P.E. registration in the United States is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead structural and civil engineering design for ports, harbours, and major infrastructure projects
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Mentor junior engineers and support the development of team technical expertise
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation
  • Participate in site visits to inform design decisions and ensure quality throughout project execution
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts
  • Travel periodically within Canada and internationally, as required.
