About The Position

As a member of an engineering and design team, the Senior Structural Engineer 2 applies knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design to power transmission modifications and upgrades. The engineer interfaces directly with clients, prepares technical specifications, independently reviews engineering work, and coordinates with engineers, project managers, client personnel, and suppliers to deliver complete designs on schedule. The position also includes reviews of existing facilities, presenting upgrade recommendations, and professional development through peer learning and Sargent & Lundy's Communities of Practice. Travel is required to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to substation locations for construction coordination and field verification. The role has a hybrid arrangement: three days per week in the office and two days working remotely. A relocation package may be available depending on location. Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this position.
