This is a senior engineering position offering diverse and challenging opportunities in structural engineering, providing an excellent chance for career advancement. The role involves collaborating with a team of structural engineers, interfacing with engineers from other disciplines, and guiding less experienced project team members. You will work on engineering projects for new nuclear facilities and upgrades/modifications to nuclear power plants, applying knowledge of materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design. As part of an engineering and design team, you will handle a wide range of projects, preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, and supporting drawing development. The position requires performing structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment and piping supports, and foundations using state-of-the-art computer tools, including conducting structural analyses for loading conditions like wind and seismic. There is potential for travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification. This position operates on a hybrid work schedule, requiring in-office work 3 days per week. Additionally, the role involves leading others in leveraging modern tools such as automation and AI to enhance workflows, minimize rework, and deliver cost-effective designs, including directing process-improvement initiatives and guiding the use of AI while ensuring result verification.
