Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • Experience with Engineering classification such as Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency with FEA software (e.g., NASTRAN, PATRAN)

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years’ experience with Fatigue or Durability Analysis.
  • Advanced degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering
  • Experience with Aircraft Structural Integrity Program (ASIP) and advanced structural concepts
  • Prior experience in aerospace structural testing and validation
  • Experience with Spectrum Generation
  • Knowledge of certification requirements and aerospace industry standards
  • Experience Boeing analysis tools (LifeWorks, StressCheck etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead development, integration and documentation of structural fatigue and fracture requirements
  • Verify structural integrity by using and developing analytical methods, finite element models/simulations, and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics, and performance
  • Lead development of test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
  • Define and document certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied
  • Support in-service products by leading investigations into failures and analyzing improvements
  • Develop analytical processes/tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort
