About The Position

The Senior Strategic and Operational Intelligence Analyst delivers proactive, forward-looking analysis of the cyber threat landscape and translates it into direction and action for Humana’s information security organization. The role sets the strategic threat picture that guides CTI collection, processing, and analysis, and supports proactive countermeasures intended to reduce Humana’s exposure before threats materialize. In collaboration with operational analysts, the analyst connects strategic assessments to operational outcomes by shaping CTI tracking, partner actions, and preparedness priorities. The analyst works directly with threat and security data, explores patterns, tests hypotheses, and combines quantitative evidence with qualitative intelligence to produce defensible assessments and practical recommendations. The role also applies AI and automation to identify priority issues, anticipate changes in the threat landscape, and improve the speed and impact of intelligence work. This is a remote position. Occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required. Employees working from home or a hybrid home/office arrangement must have internet service with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speeds and a dedicated work space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.

  • Experience with the cyber threat landscape, including prominent actors, tactics, techniques, procedures, and sector-specific threat trends.
  • Fluency with AI tools and their application to intelligence analysis, including accelerating research, structuring analysis, and maintaining analytic products at scale.
  • Experience analyzing structured or semi-structured data to answer intelligence questions and identify trends or anomalies, while communicating data limitations and confidence in judgments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex subjects concisely.
  • Experience analyzing the cyber threat landscape and translating that analysis into direction and action.
  • Working knowledge of security controls, enterprise technologies, telemetry, and defensive workflows, with experience partnering with detection, hunting, response, or vulnerability teams.

  • Identify threats and actors relevant to Enterprise Information Protection, Technology, Business, and Enterprise partners, accounting for sector-specific and Humana-specific risk.
  • Continuously update threat prioritization frameworks as the threat landscape shifts, using AI and automation to maintain them at scale and embedding them in team and stakeholder decisions.
  • Produce recurring and ad-hoc assessments of the current and projected threat landscape, tailored to Humana and its decision-making needs.
  • Analyze internal and external threat, vulnerability, and security data to identify patterns, assess relevance, and distinguish meaningful change from noise.
  • Communicate current and emerging threats and their implications through written products and verbal briefings to internal and external stakeholders, including leadership.
  • Develop strategic threat perspectives supporting CTI engagement with Humana strategic initiatives, so policies and planning are informed by the threat landscape.
  • Generate high-quality analysis from concept through delivery with limited direction, including under tight deadlines.
  • Contribute to proactive countermeasure packages that translate threat analysis into prioritized actions for Detection Engineering, SOC, Threat and Vulnerability Management, and other teams.
  • Partner with CTI peers and control owners to make recommendations actionable, appropriately scoped, feasible, and tied to current threats.
  • Improve the CTI program’s analytic practices, tools, and services.
  • Review and edit finished CTI intelligence before dissemination, applying rigorous analytic tradecraft standards and strengthening analytic thinking across the team.
  • Apply AI and automation to enhance analysis, improve speed to insight, and deliver higher-impact intelligence; contribute to the team’s adoption of AI in analytic workflows.
  • Experiment with data sources, analytic methods, and tools to answer emerging intelligence questions, refining approaches based on evidence.
