About The Position

Responsible for ensuring patient care and surgical supplies, equipment, and instruments are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, inspected, packaged, sterilized, stored, distributed, and tracked in a quality timely manner throughout the health system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology.
• Must have strong communication and computer skills.
• Must be certified and maintain certification in Central Service Technology.

Nice To Haves

• Fifteen months experience in Sterile Processing and /or Central Distribution is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with supply and instrument needs.
• Following all standard operating procedures (SOP) and policies and Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines.
• Recognizing potential and actual processing errors, notifying management, and following up according to procedure or instruction.
• Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner and maintaining continuity in work flow.
• Utilizing applicable inventory systems in use.
