About The Position

Wing is seeking a Senior Staff UX Designer for its Product & UX team. The role can be hybrid in Palo Alto, California, or fully remote within the United States. As a senior individual contributor, this designer will define how consumers, merchants, and partners interact with Wing’s drone delivery ecosystem and lead end-to-end design across consumer apps, partner and merchant operations, and internal flight and logistics tools. The role addresses challenges at the intersection of physical and software experiences, working with cutting-edge hardware, ground logistics, and software. The designer will partner with Product Management, Engineering, UX Research, and Aviation Operations to take complex, ambiguous problems from early concept through implementation. They will advance design quality and craft, mentor designers, and help ensure Wing’s technology is functional, efficient, intuitive, proactive, and human-centric.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in design, product design, or interaction design, with a record of designing and shipping impactful consumer, enterprise, or multi-platform software products.
  • A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design, systems thinking, interaction and visual design craft, and shipped products.
  • BA/BS degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience designing for complex, multi-sided ecosystems, physical-software workflows, or automated/AI-powered systems where user trust is critical.
  • Expert proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools, such as Figma and rapid or AI-assisted prototyping.
  • Experience contributing to or scaling design systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously in high-ambiguity environments, frame complex problems, and drive design vision and strategy from concept through iterative execution.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration skills, including the ability to align Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders on the user and business value of design decisions.
  • Track record of design leadership as an individual contributor, including raising design quality standards, establishing design processes, and mentoring fellow designers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design across the product lifecycle, from discovery, user journeys, and information architecture to interactive prototypes and high-fidelity visual execution.
  • Design intuitive experiences for consumer mobile applications and scalable integration experiences for retail and delivery partners.
  • Map and optimize service workflows linking merchant fulfillment, ground operations, and real-time delivery logistics.
  • Design internal tools and operational dashboards for configuring, monitoring, and managing autonomous aircraft fleets and delivery networks.
  • Partner with UX Research to plan interviews, studies, and testing, and translate qualitative findings into actionable design decisions.
  • Contribute to, evolve, and scale the design system and visual language across the Wing ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Hardware, and Aviation Operations to address technical and regulatory constraints.
  • Elevate design craft through design critiques and mentorship.
