About The Position

Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems division in Roy, UT is seeking a Senior Staff System Engineer to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Sentinel Program. This position will be part of our Launch Systems (LS) – Infrastructure – Test & Training team to plan and execute Infrastructure integration, test and checkout activities supporting Sentinel. A successful Senior Staff SE will collaborate with other engineers within and across product teams to drive successful product definition and sell-off. The Senior Staff SE will be responsible for engaging customers and senior leadership to inform on the technical solution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 14 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 12 years of experience with Master's degree, 10 years of experience with PhD
  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
  • Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • 4+ years of Experience implementing and using model-based systems engineering tools, practices, and methods
  • 4+ years of Strong program execution skills; demonstrated ability to meet program technical, cost, and schedule milestones
  • 4+ years Strong partnership/collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to partner cross-discipline within a team
  • 4+ years of Experience with one or more of the following: Launch system, facility design, military aerospace development
  • 4+ years of Experience with project management including cost and schedule reporting

Nice To Haves

  • Missile-system proficiency – Experience designing developing, testing, integrating, and/or analyzing missile systems and subsystems (propulsion, aerodynamics, flight-control, structures, and/or guidance-navigation-control)
  • Test-campaign leadership – Experience related to flight-test campaigns, including planning, execution and data capture, and post-test analysis
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) across all levels of the organization and strong partnership/collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering V-Model
  • Experience with ICBM weapon system sustainment engineering and integration
  • Large scale / complex system development experience across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell off, transition to production

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute Infrastructure integration, test and checkout activities supporting Sentinel.
