About The Position

Lead system-level requirements definition, architecture design, integration strategy, and validation in one of the platform areas — autonomy sensors, AV compute, motion control, pose/localization, or end-to-end latency. Characterize and quantify system performance for that area: define nominal targets, minimum performance, and acceptance criteria across all ODDs, and defend those numbers with data rather than convention. Recommend operating constraints for current and future ODDs on different vehicle platforms — for example trajectory constraints for a given virtual driver, or sensor performance envelopes. Define and quantify test coverage for your area, including the realism and relevance of proposed tests across simulation, SIL/HIL, closed course, and on-road. Partner with software teams to define interfaces, performance metrics, failure modes, and validation strategies; validate platform modules against ground truth where applicable. Collaborate with hardware and EE teams and external vendors on component selection, characterization, and integration; review and recommend changes to supplier requirements and test plans. Support V&V by reviewing and suggesting additional tests and implementing test cases in SIL/HIL environments. Analyze and interpret test data from simulation, HIL/SIL, and on-road testing to confirm requirements are met, and perform root cause analysis for complex cross-functional issues found during integration and testing, driving them to resolution.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of how robotic systems work and ability to leverage this knowledge to plan for verification and validation.
  • 3+ years of experience in one of the platform areas — autonomy sensors, AV compute, motion control, pose/localization, or end-to-end latency.
  • Experience testing in HIL environments or on road testing.
  • Hands on experience in systems engineering.
  • Ability to read code in C++ and write code in Python / MATLAB.
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written.

Nice To Haves

  • AV or ADAS background.
  • Familiarity with other safety standards such as STPA, ISO-21448
