Crusoe•Denver, CO
•$175,000 - $215,000

About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a Technical Program Manager to join its R&D organization and lead programs evaluating and advancing next-generation AI data center technologies. The role manages initiatives across multiple engineering disciplines, from early technology evaluations and external partnerships through pilot validation and production handoff for hyperscale deployment. The R&D team identifies and rigorously tests technologies and design approaches for future data center platforms, then delivers validated solutions to the engineering teams building and deploying infrastructure. The Technical Program Manager coordinates across R&D, engineering, external technology partners, and leadership to move programs from concept through pilot to hyperscale readiness. This position owns program execution, supports technology evaluations, manages external partners, drives cross-functional alignment, reports program status and risks, and ensures technical documentation and production handoff materials are complete. Compensation is listed as up to $175,000–$215,000 plus bonus, with Restricted Stock Units included in all offers.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in technical program management, project management, or systems engineering, with meaningful experience in data center infrastructure, manufacturing, or related industrial environments.
  • An engineering degree or equivalent technical foundation; experience beginning as an engineer and transitioning into program management.
  • Working familiarity with data center infrastructure, such as power distribution, cooling systems, facility design, or compute and networking.
  • A demonstrated record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs on time.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Experience managing external vendors, contractors, or design partners, including contract negotiation, scope management, and delivery accountability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical program details into executive summaries and facilitate discussions across engineering disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in data center construction, commissioning, or operations.
  • Manufacturing experience, particularly with modular or containerized systems.
  • Experience with power systems, cooling technologies, or high-performance computing infrastructure.
  • PMP certification or an equivalent program management credential.
  • Experience at a hyperscale cloud provider, major data center operator, or data center design or construction firm.
  • Experience in an R&D, advanced engineering, or new product introduction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive R&D programs end-to-end, from early technology evaluation and partner engagement through pilot-scale deployment and production handoff for hyperscale rollout.
  • Coordinate planning between R&D and engineering teams, manage shared initiative pipelines, and align R&D outputs with infrastructure teams’ needs.
  • Coordinate technology evaluations, including vendor engagements, test protocols, data collection, success criteria, and documented go/no-go decision frameworks.
  • Manage external vendors, startups, design firms, and development partners, including scope, deliverable quality, schedules, contracts, and commercial terms.
  • Coordinate joint evaluations and pilot programs with industry and research partners.
  • Align R&D, engineering, operations, and leadership stakeholders; translate technical complexity into milestones, risk registers, and decision points.
  • Report program status to R&D leadership and engineering stakeholders, and proactively identify and escalate risks and blockers.
  • Ensure programs produce technical assessments, pilot results, vendor evaluations, and production handoff documentation that enable engineering teams to adopt and scale validated solutions.
