Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer (Coupang AI Foundations)
About The Position
Coupang is seeking experienced, innovative machine learning engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset to join the Coupang AI Foundations technical team. The team pioneers advanced AI engineering for e-commerce and develops innovative optimization techniques for AI reasoning and token-completion models. The role involves hands-on work designing and implementing algorithms and systems, investigating how they can be improved, running experiments, analyzing results, and iterating quickly. Related project areas include computer-vision-enabled e-commerce product enablement, observability of model reasoning, and new model architectures optimized for e-commerce.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML and familiarity with the latest deep learning techniques.
Nice To Haves
- 10+ years of relevant experience in technology companies or organizations.
- Knowledge of e-commerce or eagerness to learn.
- Industry experience applying Large Language Models or Large Image Models.
- Hands-on ability to independently design and implement high-quality algorithms and systems.
- Ability to investigate algorithms and systems in depth and generate improvement ideas.
- Ability to run experiments efficiently, analyze results, and iterate quickly.
- A solid track record of delivering significant business impact through technology innovation.
