About The Position

Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company, has an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Geotechnical Engineer for our Salt Lake City, Utah office. This role is responsible for conducting geotechnical investigations and analysis, performing boring layout for utility clearance, supervising drill rigs, classifying soils, logging boring, test pits, and cores, performing floor level surveys, performing testing and observation services, reviewing plans and specifications, and preparing geotechnical reports and letters. The Staff Geotechnical Engineer will also be responsible for assignments and compilation of laboratory testing and geotechnical calculations, including calculations pertaining to shallow and deep foundation design, pavement design, retaining walls, slope stability analysis, liquefaction, and settlement.

Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience with the above job duties
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Positive attitude
• Good organizational skills
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as a team member

• MS in Geotechnical Engineering
