Senior/Staff Full Stack Software Engineer

American IT SystemsSan Francisco, CA

About The Position

We're seeking a Senior/Staff-level Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our fast-paced engineering team in our SF office. You'll play a critical role in building and scaling our cross-platform application, working across the stack -from modern TypeScript frontends to native system-level integrations - with a strong emphasis on performance, reliability, and seamless user experience. This is a highly technical role for someone who's excited to work at the intersection of desktop software, native development, and AI integration, and who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • 5 - 10 years of experience as a senior / staff level full stack software engineer (backend leaning)
  • Product-leaning experience owning features end-to-end at high growth startup (early stage to Series D) OR high-growth big tech / FAANG company where they worked on something real
  • Experience with AI/LLM-powered features.
  • Experience with consumer productivity tech companies.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript + Node.js / React if front-end + Swift / C++ if backend
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Type-A tendencies: maybe you're extremely detail-oriented. Or maybe you take pride in shipping high-quality products. Whatever it is you do, you give it your all.
  • Ownership mentality (no task is too small for you) – it's all hands on deck here and we need everyone rowing the boat.

Nice To Haves

  • Former founder or early-stage startup experience.
  • Experience with Electron is a huge plus
  • Must spike in one particular domain / be passionate about something e.g. constantly reading about AI, building LLMs, OR are really good at backend, developed open-source projects or architected something, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain core features of an Electron desktop application
  • Own end-to-end implementation of user-facing and infrastructure features, from UI to native modules
  • Develop and integrate LLM-based functionality
  • Collaborate on native code written in C++ (Windows) and Swift (macOS)
  • Help make architectural decisions and contribute to the technical direction of the company
