About The Position

This role will be for a technical leader within the Splunk Platform Identity org, spanning initiatives across 3 geographically distributed engineering teams. The area is responsible for the Identity stack within the Splunk portfolio across platform, security, and observability as well as how Splunk fits into the larger Cisco Identity architecture. The team is central in the evolution of Splunk as a unified Cisco product, where identity management is pivotal in ensuring a smooth customer experience while moving from product to product, and access management policies demand the highest security to protect sensitive security and observability data. By being a key dependency for many new, strategic initiatives you will play a critical role in shaping how we design and deliver foundational components to our customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelors and 12+ years of related experience in a Software Engineering domain
  • Experience designing and delivering scalable Identity customer facing products and/or features
  • Experience in programming languages such as Golang and/or C++
  • Experience in building solutions on a diverse set of platforms (Cloud, AWS, Kubernetes)

  • Experience building strong or improving existing engineering practices and processes
  • Experience leveraging AI technologies to quickly learn, adapt and accelerate development
  • Understanding of the evolving identity and security industry standards

Responsibilities

  • Lead team members to develop systems, scope and decompose projects, mitigate technical debt and risk, and promote best practices.
  • Drive the development of project timelines, design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, test plans and testing, and contribute to ongoing support of the product.
  • Guide and mentor team members with a specific focus on architecture, software design, and security through 1-on-1 coaching and detailed code review feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and other specialists to understand customer needs and translate them into designs and product features.
  • Assess and address security vulnerabilities detected by our ongoing Security testing activities.
