Senior Staff Engineer - Civil/Site
About The Position
French & Parrello Associates (FPA) is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer for our Civil/Site Department in Wall, NJ. This role involves assisting in the design and development of civil/site plans, including grading, drainage, utilities, and erosion & sediment control. The engineer will prepare construction documents, reports, and technical specifications, perform site layout, stormwater management, and utility design calculations, and support the preparation of permit applications and regulatory submissions. Responsibilities also include coordinating with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines, and conducting site visits and assisting with construction observation as needed. The role requires reviewing and interpreting survey data, zoning requirements, and environmental constraints to ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 2–4 years of experience in civil/site design (land development experience preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Familiarity with stormwater design and hydrology/hydraulics software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, or similar)
- Understanding of local permitting and regulatory processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a team environment
Nice To Haves
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or on track to obtain
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
- Exposure to municipal, commercial, or residential land development projects
