About The Position

Revv is hiring a senior- or staff-level data engineer to develop a practical data platform strategy following its merger with AirPro Diagnostics. The role will make shared data from both companies useful across products and business operations, working within a complex, multi-cloud environment spanning AWS and Azure. The engineer will assess existing infrastructure and data needs, integrate AirPro's Azure SQL Server production data with Revv's AWS-to-Snowflake pipelines, and own architecture decisions for the combined platform. The position will build tested, documented dbt models for analytics in Power BI and Hex; connect Salesforce and ERP data; and help establish data governance, quality, ownership, SOC 2, and international data-handling practices. As the integration matures, the engineer will help develop connected data into products and improved experiences for repair shops. The role has substantial ownership and calls for progress amid ambiguity, clear communication, and sound architectural judgment. The position is remote anywhere in the US, with most collaboration during Eastern Time hours and some flexibility for adjacent time zones. Occasional team onsite travel is noted as an example. Success measures include mapping needs and presenting an approved infrastructure plan within 90 days, making combined company data accessible within six months, and helping shape data-driven products within 12 months.

Requirements

  • Typically 6 or more years of data engineering experience, including ownership of platform-level design decisions.
  • Deep, hands-on production experience with Snowflake and dbt.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Working familiarity with the Azure data ecosystem, such as SQL Server, Data Factory, or Synapse.
  • Sound architectural judgment across ingestion, orchestration, and modeling, with the ability to clearly explain tradeoffs.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity, identifying priorities, and making progress without waiting for perfect information.
  • Ability to document work clearly for audiences outside engineering.
  • Experience partnering across functions and translating business questions into data requirements.
  • Experience at a SaaS or software company.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building data that powers customer-facing products, including ML or AI features.
  • Experience integrating data across clouds or following an acquisition or merger.
  • Experience with Fivetran and modern orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
  • Experience establishing data governance, SOC 2 controls, or data residency practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assess data needs across engineering, product, finance, sales, and operations; evaluate existing infrastructure and set a scalable data platform strategy across AWS and Azure.
  • Integrate AirPro's production data from SQL Server on Azure into the Snowflake data lake alongside Revv's AWS, Fivetran, dbt, and Snowflake pipelines; evaluate options such as Azure Synapse and own the architecture.
  • Build clean, tested, and well-documented dbt models for analytics in Power BI and Hex.
  • Partner with finance and sales to integrate Salesforce and ERP data so revenue and operating metrics are consistent across the company.
  • Help establish data governance, quality, and ownership practices, including SOC 2 and international data-handling requirements.
  • Help turn connected data across customer touchpoints into products and improved experiences for repair shops.
  • Document models, decisions, and strategy so people outside engineering can use and trust the data.
  • Translate business questions into data requirements and communicate data insights and requirements across functions.
