About The Position

A portfolio of AI-native and data-intensive startups is hiring backend engineers to build the reliable systems, data models and infrastructure behind rapidly scaling products.

Requirements

• Substantial production backend engineering experience with Python, Go, Java, Rust, Node.js or similar.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, databases, distributed systems and API development.
• Experience operating cloud-based services and diagnosing performance or reliability problems.
• Track record of owning complex projects with limited oversight.
• Pragmatic judgment, strong debugging skills and an ability to communicate trade-offs clearly.

Nice To Haves

• PostgreSQL, event-driven architecture, queues or workflow orchestration.
• AI/ML platform, LLM infrastructure or high-volume data-processing experience.
• AWS, GCP or Azure; Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code exposure.

Responsibilities

• Design and build resilient backend services, APIs, data models and asynchronous workflows.
• Own business-critical systems from architecture through deployment, monitoring and incident response.
• Improve performance, reliability, security and developer velocity as products scale.
• Build clean interfaces around complex data and third-party integrations.
• Partner with product and customer-facing teams to prioritise high-impact technical investments.
• Mentor engineers and help establish practical engineering standards.
