As a Senior Staff Attorney in The Hartford’s Workers’ Compensation group, you’ll own a Texas WC defense caseload end to end—partnering closely with claims professionals to set strategy, evaluate exposure, and drive thoughtful, timely resolutions. This is a role for a litigator who enjoys autonomy, values practical problem-solving, and wants the support and stability of an in-house practice while staying close to the courtroom when it counts. This role is remote in the state of Texas except for required appearances. Ideally, we are looking for someone in the Central Texas region, around Austin or San Antonio, although you will cover cases all throughout the state, as most WC appearances are remote. Why You’ll Love This Role Invested in your Growth: Ongoing training, mentorship, and development pathways are built so you can expand your skills and take on greater responsibility. Drive Case strategy and outcomes: Manage a WC caseload with meaningful autonomy—build the strategy, make the calls, and see matters through resolution. In-house partnership model: Collaborate closely with Claims Partners and advise insureds directly. Modern practice, modern tools: Leverage case management and approved technology—including progressive AI tools. Work from home day to day, with occasional in-person collaboration (approximately 2 times per year) and required appearances as the case demands.
