About The Position

Analytic Services, Inc. (ANSER) is seeking a Senior Staff Action Officer to support the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (DoD CIO) in task management and execution across Command, Control, and Communications (C3) equities. In this key role, you will support senior DoD officials in ensuring the smooth and effective flow and completion of tasks. This position does not permit hybrid or remote work options with all job duties performed full-time onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in business administration, public administration, national security, political science, or a similar related field. 4 years of additional federal work experience may be substituted for a 4-year degree.
  • 10+ years of federal work experience, including a minimum of 3 years of experience supporting a senior DoD organization (2-star equivalent or higher).
  • Experience supporting executive or program-level correspondence and task management functions in DoD.
  • Experience coordinating with Office of the Secretary of Defense organizations.
  • Advanced proficiency with DoD task tracking tools and workflow management systems, including CATMS.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and understand organizational equities, priorities, and leadership intent.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively, efficiently, and comprehensively with relevant stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, briefing, and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with the DoD CIO portfolio, including Command, Control, and Communications (C3); spectrum management; Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT); and / or Satellite Communications (SATCOM).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Planner.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee complex task management, assessment of equities, correspondence routing, and action tracking processes.
  • Develop and maintain task management tools and systems to monitor performance, progress, and compliance.
  • Prepare, review, and edit correspondence, reports, and briefings to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to policy.
  • Analyze workload data and provide recommendations to improve efficiency and communication flow.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tracking and reconciling assigned actions and deliverables.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to clarify task requirements and equities, ensure accurate delivery aligned to the requirements, and resolve process issues.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives that enhance organizational responsiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Provide procedural and coordination guidance to program staff and peers on action management practices.
  • Participate in planning and execution of key program meetings, reporting cycles, and performance updates.
  • Apply a strong understanding of organizational equities and leadership intent to develop recommendations for senior leadership.
