About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant will work closely with the Assistant Controller / Corporate Controller and must have cost accounting and journal entry experience. Possess an understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and a working knowledge of PC-based accounting software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years related, professional accounting and finance experience with some background in manufacturing.
  • Exposure to percentage-of-completion accounting is preferred.
  • Strong Excel experience including formulas, pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Strong GAAP knowledge
  • Can interpret financial data contained in reports and ledgers.
  • Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Work in a high energy, high volume, rapidly changing environment.
  • Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results.
  • Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved.

Responsibilities

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformance of transaction coding to standards and policies.
  • Scrutinize intercompany reconciliations/eliminations to ensure data integrity
  • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts to ensure transactions are recorded accurately and account balances are accurately stated in accordance with GAAP and Company policy.
  • Prepare and examine financial reports with an eye for accuracy and compliance.
  • Preparation of the company consolidation including foreign currency translations and intercompany eliminations.
  • Responsible for revenue and cost accounting on company projects. Maintain, reconcile, and analyze COGS and Revenue by project.
  • Maintains and balances accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
  • Reports the percentage of completion revenue recognition.
  • Prepare, manage, and support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Heavy involvement with external auditors as required to provide support when requested.
  • Management and reconciliation of general ledger sub-ledgers.
  • Provide sales tax preparation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
