About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Atlanta, GA. This role will focus on traditional month-end close, financial forecasting, and transactional accounting, including responsibilities in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and other general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to contribute to accurate financial reporting and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of accounting experience, with a strong focus on month-end close, forecasting, and transactional accounting.
  • Experience with AP, AR, and general accounting functions.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process, including preparing and posting journal entries.
  • Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare and assist in generating monthly financial reports for management.
  • Process and manage transactions related to AP, AR, and other general accounting tasks.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all transactions, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer collections.
  • Reconcile AP and AR subledgers to the general ledger, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper financial documentation.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial forecasts, focusing on operating expenses and revenue trends.
  • Work with department managers to track financial performance against the budget.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on spending trends and cost analysis.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring that all transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support general ledger reconciliations and assist in maintaining the overall accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing reconciliations and documentation.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights for management to support decision-making.
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve accounting processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of new policies and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the accounting function.
