We are hiring a Senior Staff Accountant at our Knoxville, Tennessee headquarters. This role reports to the Controller and owns close, reporting, and analysis work across multiple entities, including the pool franchise entity and the tanks entity. You will reconcile accounts, prepare financials, lead the annual budget process, support the year-end audit and tax work, and help franchisees with their financials. The position sits in a high-volume, multi-company environment where accuracy, deadlines, and clear communication with operations matter.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 or more years of accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Intermediate to expert Excel skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with accounting teammates and with managers outside the department.
  • Self-starter who can meet strict close and reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-entity close, franchise, or manufacturing experience.
  • ERP budgeting and financial statement preparation experience.
  • Exposure to corporate tax estimates and external audit support

Responsibilities

  • Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support month-end close and reporting for multiple companies, including cash and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analyses.
  • Prepare complete financials for the pool franchise entity and the tanks entity.
  • Lead the annual budget process: sales forecasting, department expense budgets, and loading the final budget into the ERP.
  • Support the annual audit, including drafts of financial statements and related notes.
  • Research and analyze expense variances for management.
  • Review prepared corporate tax returns, assist the external tax firm, and prepare tax estimates for corporate entities.
  • Document accounting procedures and implement process improvements.
  • Complete ad hoc analyses and projects as assigned.
