About The Position
Under more limited supervision, the Senior Staff Accountant performs complex accounting activities and financial analyses by utilizing hands-on accounting experience and an in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices. As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will fill a crucial role in the business accounting process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a four-year recognized university
- 3+ years of accounting experience related to the job description
- Solid understanding of financial statements and GAAP
- Experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance
- Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working in a team environment
- Advanced Excel skills to manipulate large data files to perform various analysis using VLOOKUP, PIVOT TABLE, INDEX, MATCH, and etc.
- Experience with Dynamics GP, MS Word and Outlook is required
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, travel between office locations (including those with stairs), and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, along with adequate visual and auditory abilities (with or without aids), are essential.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

- MA or MBA preferred
- Experience with Dynamics CRM a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Make recommendations based on analysis and status of reserves, assets and expenditures
- Assist with financial and tax audits
- Document and monitor internal controls in support of auditing team
- Prepare and file multi-state sales and use tax returns, ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations, research taxability issues, and assist with audits and tax notices.
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
- Analyze complex financial reports and records
- Review journal entries of junior accountants to ensure accuracy
- Train and mentor junior staff
- Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations
- Prepare financial reports
- Perform account reconciliations
- Maintain the general ledger, prepare tax returns, assist with audit preparations, and perform other accounting duties as assigned
