About The Position

Formentera Operations is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial information across the organization. As a Financial Reporting Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining various accounting activities, including financial reporting, analysis, and compliance with regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to support decision-making processes, drive operational efficiency, and maintain financial stability. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this position will play a key role in ensuring data integrity across systems. You will reconcile data between our accounting software and the data models used for reporting and strategic decision-making. This includes managing ongoing and evolving projects that require a high level of precision and accountability to maintain the integrity of financial and operational data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
  • CPA certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial accounting/reporting, with at least 3 years in the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate findings effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounting entries monthly ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide accounting information to support internal stakeholders in making business decisions.
  • Support external audits providing documentation and explanations as needed to auditors.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining internal controls and procedures.
