About The Position

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is seeking a Senior SSAS Developer to lead development efforts for a Research Data Repository under a federal grant initiative. This role involves designing, developing, and supporting enterprise BI solutions, data models, and analytical systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in SQL Server and BI development
• Strong expertise in: SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services) – cube development
• SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services)
• SQL Server and advanced SQL querying
• Experience with multidimensional cubes and data modeling
• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

Nice To Haves

• Experience with SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
• Knowledge of education data systems (PIMS)
• Experience working on data warehouse or research data projects
• Understanding of project management methodologies

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain SSAS cubes, data models, and reports
• Translate business needs into analytics and reporting requirements
• Work with stakeholders across business and technical teams
• Perform data integration, data linking, and automated data refresh processes
• Participate in full SDLC (design, development, testing, deployment, support)
• Deliver high-quality code and support testing and implementation activities
• Track project progress and communicate updates with stakeholders
• Manage and support production deployments and rollouts
• Train end users on reporting tools, querying standards, and cube usage
• Identify improvements in BI processes and data architecture
