About The Position
We are looking for a Senior SQL Database Administrator with 10+ years of experience to manage, optimize, and support enterprise database platforms. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role, focused primarily on Azure SQL environments, with some exposure to AWS databases.
Requirements
- 10+ years in IT, with 8+ years as a SQL DBA
- Experience supporting enterprise, production‑scale databases
- Strong experience with Azure SQL Database, SQL Managed Instance, SQL Server
- Working knowledge of AWS RDS (SQL Server/Aurora)
- HA/DR (Always On, Failover Groups), backup & recovery
- Performance tuning and capacity planning
- Database security and compliance
Nice To Haves
- Azure or SQL Server certifications
- Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs
- Support AWS databases such as RDS (SQL Server/Aurora) in hybrid environments
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and restore strategies
- Monitor and tune database performance; optimize queries and indexing
- Implement database security, access controls, encryption, and auditing
- Execute database upgrades, patching, migrations, and capacity planning
- Automate routine DBA tasks using T‑SQL, PowerShell, or scripting tools
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root‑cause analysis
- Maintain operational documentation and standards
- Provide technical guidance as a senior IC
