About The Position

BCI, a leader in the women's fashion industry since 1975, is expanding its presence and seeking a Senior Fashion Designer. With a portfolio of brands including CeCe, Vince Camuto, Ted Baker, 1.State, and Parker, BCI is dedicated to innovation, excellence, and women's empowerment through fashion. The Senior Fashion Designer will collaborate closely with the Design Director to develop the line, ensuring product consistency with market trends while defining brand identity and business strategy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6+ years of fashion design experience
  • Must have background in sportswear design
  • Knowledge of garment construction and patterns
  • Strong flat sketching abilities; either via Procreate or Illustrator
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Self-starter and proactive worker
  • Enthusiastic and team-oriented
  • Must have a sense of urgency
  • Must be fluent in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Must be able to sketch (Flats/Floats) in Procreate or Illustrator
  • Learns quickly and eager to learn all parts of the industry
  • Must have an eye for Merchandising, Assorting Fabrics/Garments accordingly
  • Must be comfortable with long hours, if needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Procreate would be great but not required
  • Knowledge of Exenta is not required but is definitely a plus
  • Basic knowledge of Pattern construction would be great, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support the Creative Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final production
  • Manage an assistant and delegate workflow
  • Communicate daily with sales and production to ensure design sheets are being completed properly and in a timely manner
  • Create and execute on the vision of the Creative Director, ensuring that the product is consistent with market trends, while defining the brand identity and overall business strategy
  • Developing Design sheets in Exenta (PLM System)
  • Updating reorder bodies with new ideas while incorporating upcoming trends
  • Sourcing trims, prints and novelty fabrics with venders/In the market
  • Choosing matching linings
  • Setting up new silhouettes in prints and new fabrications in our in house sewing room to get cut and sewn
  • Supporting the head designer in creating and organizing a cohesive line
  • Creating inspiration boards
