About The Position
The Senior Speech and Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients referred for speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia dysfunction. Mentors less experienced Speech Pathologists.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Experience with adult and pediatric populations
- Proficiency in evaluating and treating a wide range of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and neurology related to communication and swallowing
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff
Nice To Haves
- Experience with specialized areas such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), voice disorders, or head and neck cancer
- Experience with research or program development
- Bilingual abilities
