About The Position

The Senior Speech and Language Pathologist evaluates and treats patients referred for speech, language, cognitive, and dysphagia dysfunction. Mentors less experienced Speech Pathologists.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting
  • Experience with adult and pediatric populations
  • Proficiency in evaluating and treating a wide range of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and neurology related to communication and swallowing
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising junior staff

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with specialized areas such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), voice disorders, or head and neck cancer
  • Experience with research or program development
  • Bilingual abilities
