About The Position

As a member of the Specialty Clinical Team, you will report to a Supervising, Specialty Operations Pharmacist. Daily work assignments include both inbound and outbound calls to patients to discuss medication therapy, side effect management and adverse event reporting. As a Senior Specialty Consultative Pharmacist your primary responsibility will be to assess and evaluate the conditions of our members, with an emphasis on medication therapy, through telephonic interactions to ensure they achieve and maintain wellness. Additionally, you will develop and implement comprehensive care plans, monitor patient progress through regular assessments, and use advanced telecommunication systems to provide medication education. You will demonstrate your clinical expertise. In this role you will have an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of patients with serious and rare health conditions within a supportive and professional environment.

Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy (PharmD)
  • Active Pharmacist license from the state of Florida, Texas, Ohio or Arizona Board of Pharmacy without restrictions or disciplinary action.
  • Minimum three, (3) years of experience as a pharmacist in a high-volume retail, hospital or mail order pharmacy practice environment
  • Participate in Federal prescription programs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and OneNote
  • Knowledge navigating multiple systems, platforms and troubleshoot and resolve general technical difficulties in a remote environment.
  • Work alone and within a team setting to meet department goals.
  • Problem-solving skills and use resources for professional decision-making.
  • Focused, accurate and highly productive.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in written form.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacist Board Certification – Oncology, Specialty, Geriatric, Pharmacotherapy, and Ambulatory
  • Proficient in Spanish
  • Previous experience in a Specialty Pharmacy setting
  • Previous experience with Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM)
  • Previous Commercial, Medicare, or Medicaid experience
  • Previous clinical experience in managed care

Responsibilities
