National Grid is hiring a Senior Technology Specialist for their Technology Operations and Service department in their Western Service Area. The position involves coordinating onboarding, supporting training and development, assisting with IT and equipment management, and optimizing systems and processes for efficiency. The specialist will also contribute to system enhancements, testing, compliance tracking, and continuous improvement efforts. Requirements

  • Strong technical background in IT support and training.
  • Extensive understanding of Operational processes with a comprehensive grasp of day-to-day workflows.
  • Knowledge of National Grid's business operations, company policies and practices.
  • Proficient in relevant software, e.g. Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). SAP.
  • Strong Leadership skills; team building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Learning Link platform issues, manage tickets, and track overdue training.
  • Support the Rollcall System with user access, training management, and issue resolution.
  • Develop training guides and materials for business applications.
  • Educate field crews on proper procedures for accurate Crew Accounting entries.
  • Provide IT support for devices such as laptops, iPads, iPhones, and other equipment used by team members.
  • Oversee the setup and distribution of mobile devices like iPads and iPhones.
  • Conduct training on the effective use of mobile devices and related applications.
  • Investigate and ensure quality control for accounting discrepancies.
  • Oversee purchasing, configuration, and tracking of internal safety equipment (e.g., AEDs, Burn Kits, Load Busters, rubber goods, grounds, hot sticks) to ensure compliance.
  • Administer the scheduling process for the Prescription Eyewear Program.
  • Prepare monthly AVLS equipment outage reports and track vehicles requiring Code blue or AVLS tracking.
  • Prepare monthly Fleet Utilization reports and work with supervisors to ensure vehicles/equipment are charged appropriately.
  • Schedule Class A License training.
  • Manage monthly DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports).
