About The Position

L3Harris Technologies has an opening for a Model and Simulation Systems Engineer for an important national Security Program. The successful candidate will support a high-performing team of Government and Contractor professionals in developing a concept of operations and a notional system architecture to enable future live, virtual, and constructive training, exercises, and experiments for command and control of USSPACECOM-assigned tactical units. This role requires experience in space operations, COA and TTP execution, and the Space Warfighting mission. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-energy environment with constantly evolving tasks and priorities. This position supports the Space Superiority Business within the Space Systems sector.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility and the ability to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph.

Nice To Haves

  • Requires strong knowledge of space operations, orbital mechanics, and the Space Domain Awareness mission area.
  • Possess advanced knowledge of Systems Tool Kit (STK), Model Based Systems Engineering software (MBSE), and Systems Modeling software (SysML); knowledge of Space Domain Command and Control System (SDCCS) or Iron Stallion (IS) is beneficial.
  • Experience with wargame model development and the integration of real-world data into hypothetical analysis.
  • Experience developing courses of action for operational maneuvers and applying analysis of alternatives (AoA) in operations planning and what-if drills.
  • Possess a broad range of knowledge of space systems to include DoD, national assets and adversary systems.

Responsibilities

  • Professional that is highly skilled in Systems Tool Kit (STK) and other simulation tools in order to support space operations, current and future operations (CUOPS & FUOPS), and training at the National Space Defense Center (NSDC) at Schriever SFB.
  • Model and Simulation efforts will be used to increase customer capability for live, virtual and constructive training as well as expanding NSDC Advanced Concept Experimentation (NACE).
  • Modeling and Simulation of real-world engagements, training events, and mission planning operations will play a key role in expanding customer understanding of the warfighting domain and support the development of tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Mod and Sim products will provide a foundation for future requirements development of common operating picture tools used in operations.
  • Participating in exercises and other government driven events to derive performance benchmarks and technical utility.
  • Work full-time at a customer site in Colorado Springs.
  • Generate, share, present briefings and products for senior leadership and enterprise awareness.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
