About The Position

The L3Harris Implementation Systems Engineer is a customer facing position to support the design, implementation and testing of Land Mobile Radio wireless communications systems for Public Safety, Transportation and Utility Customers. System Designs and test plans are developed to meet customer system requirements. Technical oversight for L3Harris and teams of subcontractors is required to meet customer commitments. This position ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems and subsystem solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to travel 30%+.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain Sec+ certification.
  • US Citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Develop design documentation to include application descriptions, interface control documents, system design drawings, system integration, network configuration, and test plans.
  • Participate in discussions with customers, consultants, vendors, subcontractors and other L3Harris personnel as necessary to complete contractual commitments.
  • Perform technical planning, system parts ordering, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Perform analyses at all levels of system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
  • Provide Systems Engineering project ownership after contract award including: final design and equipment selection, implementation and as-built documentation, factory and on-site installation and system optimization.
  • Project execution including partnering with a Project Manager, Network Engineer and other System Engineers to ensure complete project lifecycle integration.
  • Accept project responsibilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.
  • Grow knowledge in one or more specialty areas and work toward becoming an expert resource.
  • Participate in discussions with customers, consultants, vendors and other L3Harris personnel as necessary to advance projects.
